Whole grain brown rice (WGBR) has been consumed as food and medicine for hundreds of years. WGBR are excellent sources of nutritious foods. The long term storage of WGBR is very significant. RF plasma at 40W was found to be the most effective against mold spoilage on WGBR for up to 12 weeks; without the plasma treatment, mold covered the WGBR in only 4 weeks. Therefore, an atmospheric RF plasma can be used for the preventing of WGBR from mold growth during storage.
