“The developed wood packaging containing essential oil in a closed or opened system was effective to inhibit mold growth, maintain qualities and prolong the shelf life of tropical fruits from 10 days to 28 days at ambient temperature.The novelty of this study is the essential oil controlled-release wood packaging that is applicable for controlling fruit qualities, extending the fruit shelf life, and prolonging the sellable period.”
